A NEARLY blind black cat who went missing from San Francisco turned up three months later on the other side of America in New York.
How he made the 3,000 mile journey remains a mystery.
The story began in May when little Jack Daniels was taken into care with his brother Jim Beam by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Jack and Jim were put up for adoption together.
Jack was nearly blind from a viral infection that had left him with scarred corneas, and the intention was to find a home for him and Jim, who functioned as a seeing-eye companion, together.
But then Jack went missing, much to the dismay of the San Francisco shelter.
Incredibly last week Jack was found wandering the streets of Manhattan in New York. As he was microchipped, the SPCA was able to trace him back to San Francisco.
He has now been returned to San Francisco and put up for adoption again. Sadly Jack Daniels' brother Jim Beam has already been adopted.
